Caution use in immunocompromised or critically ill patients
Patients with long-term dysbiosis may need to start at a lower dose
Caution is required in cases of perforated bowel or recent bowel surgery
Since S. boulardii is a yeast, antifungal agents may decrease its effectiveness; take 2 hours before or 4 - 6 hours after antifungals
Seek medical advice if diarrhoea persists for more than:
6 hours in infants under 6 months; 12 hours in children under 3 years; 24 hours in children aged 3 - 6 years; 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years
